Honor Your Hometown Hero with a Banner!

Hometown Heroes Banner Program

Applications are being accepted through August 31, 2021 for any active duty or Veteran military members in our community for our Hometown Heroes Banner Program. This person must have a relationship to Mt. Airy and be honorably discharged from service; however long ago or recent, we would be delighted to honor each one. The cost to sponsor a banner is $200. This is not a fundraiser, all costs go directly to the program. Visit the website or Town Hall for a listing of all required documents. Currently, there are 106 HOMETOWN HEROES being honored on Main Street, Center Street and Park Avenue. If you have questions, contact Town Hall at 301-829-1424.

I <3 Mount Airy - Featuring Interview with NEW FRENCH BAKERY

Our Community Development Department truly enjoys the monthly production of "I <3 Mount Airy" which provides an opportunity to update the community on town updates and projects; but the most rewarding segment of the show is always right at the beginning. It's the interviews with members of the Community! In the July episode, tune in with Lenny and Julia Kazanov, owners and operators for Cle Doree, 239 South Main Street to learn who they are and what they are baking on Main Street. Staff have personally tried the macarons and they are fresh and delicious! You can watch older episodes of "I <3 Mount Airy" here.
