Cheers to a New Year

The year 2020 was certainly unbelievably memorable, limiting, challenging and in some ways surprisingly beneficial. Our lives changed.  But it is time to start anew!! A cure for COVID-19 has been established, we can and should support our Mount Airy businesses and stay local!  Cheers To A New Beginning!!

Patrick Rockinberg - Mayor

Volunteer of the Year 2020
Beverly Blatchford, VOY 2020

Congratulations Beverly Blatchford, VOY 2020!

Beverly Blatchford was awarded the Volunteer of the Year this month. She has been a Beautification member for more than 7 years and has served as secretary for most of those years.  She has been working hard to make Mount Airy b-e-a-utiful!  A few of her efforts this year have included hanging and removing holiday decorations for downtown, Wildwood Park and Vest Pocket Park; late winter tree and shrub pruning in parks and along Rails to Trails; digging out grass to create a new garden at the Wildwood point, preparing the area for planting, then planting and watering as needed; and spring cleanup & weeding in all park gardens. Snow Plowing

Snow Removal Information

Mount Airy had it's first significant snow fall in a long time. The Town and Department of Public Works want to thank residents for assisting them in their recent snow removal efforts by relocating your vehicles from the roadways. Your help made their efforts much easier and efficient.  In this cooperative spirit, it is being requested that your property snow blowing and shoveling be not directed back onto the roadways, but rather to a grassy area.  We would appreciate this and all your continued help when the next snowfall comes our way. Snow removal questions or concerns? Visit our Snow Removal Information page.
