Mt. Airy, MD The Kiwanis Club of Mt. Airy Fall 2016 Charity Golf Tournament will tee off Monday, September 26 at The Links at Challedon to raise funds for the many causes the nonprofit organization supports throughout the year. The tournament will feature a scramble format with registration and a continental breakfast at 7:30am, shotgun start at 8:30am, a “Dog at the Turn,” and a full buffet lunch following the tournament.  And, of course range balls, mulligans, and drinks on the course will all be provided! This golf tournament will be a great opportunity to have fun, socialize with friends and help support the year-round youth activities and community service provided by the Kiwanis club.

Not one, but two Hole-in-One prizes include a new F-150 from Century Ford and $5,000 cash from Browning Reagle Insurance Agency.  Other contests include Closest to the Pin, Men’s and Ladies’ Longest Drive, and Putting Accuracy!

Some of the youth programs and activities the club supports include the Key Clubs at both Linganore and South Carroll High Schools, the Builder’s Club at the Mt. Airy Middle School, reading resource material for the pre-K and K teachers at Twin Ridge and Parr’s Ridge Elementary Schools, the children’s section at the local library, local Boy and Girl Scout troups, and children’s programs for Mt. Airy Net families.

As a nonprofit volunteer organization, the club relies on the private sector and the work of its members for its financial support.  The tournament needs the help of others to achieve its fundraising goal.  Of course, the most fun way to support this tournament is to sign up to play!  Individuals are $100, a foursome is $400.  Hole sponsorships are $200 and businesses in turn receive both signage at the tournament as well as a full year of recognition on the Kiwanis website.

Golfer and sponsor forms for the Kiwanis tournament are available at  Questions can be emailed to the website or directed to either: Paul Clay at 240-285-0644 or Bill Butts at 301-829-4444.
