Mount Airy Board of Elections

The Board of Supervisors of Elections shall be in charge of the conduct of the citizens’ meeting for nominations and all special and general elections in the Town. The Board may appoint clerks to assist it in any of its duties.

Current Members of the Mount Airy Election Board:

  • Latisha Wood (2/16)

Members have an election term of two years. Current members term will expire in February of 2014.

                                                                         TOWN OF MOUNT AIRY

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ELECTIONS

 

TWO CITIZEN MEETINGS will be held for the purpose of accepting nominations of candidates for the Mayor and two Town Council positions for the upcoming May 5, 2014 Mount Airy Election.  The nominations process has changed (see below).  Two nomination meetings will be held, and nominations will remain open between the meetings.

 

DATES OF NOMINATION MEETINGS:

FEB.10, 2014 – First Nomination Meeting

FEB.19, 2014 – Second Nomination Meeting, when all nominations will be read and given to the Town Clerk to put on the ballot.

 

TIME AND LOCATION OF NOMINATION MEETINGS:

7:00 p.m. Town Hall, 110 South Main Street, Mount Airy. Nominations will be accepted at both nomination meetings, and also at Town Hall (office hours 8:30a.m. – 5:00p.m. M-F) during the time period between the meetings.  Written consent of the nominee is needed.

 

ELECTION INFORMATION: May 5, 2014 at the Firemen’s Activities Building, 1008 Twin Arch Road, Mount Airy.  Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

 

REGISTRATION DEADLINE & INFORMATION: The last day to register to vote in the 2014 Mount Airy Election will be on APRIL 4, 2014 AT 5:00 P.M.  If you currently live in the Mount Airy Town limits and are registered with Frederick or Carroll County Election Board, you are automatically registered to vote in the Town Election.  County Election Registration Forms are available at the library and Town Hall.

May 5, 2014 ELECTION INFORMATION.

Below is the sample ballot and election information for the Mount Airy Town Election to be held on

May 5, 2014.  You must be a registered voter and live in the Mount Airy Town limits to vote at the Mount Airy Election. Absentees are available at Town Hall, 110 South Main Street, Mount Airy.  The last day to register is April 4, 2014.   Call 301-829-1424 or 410-6012 if you have any questions.
