Boards, Committees & Commissions

All meetings of elected or appointed boards or committees in the Town of Mount Airy are open to the public. A public body may vote to convene in an executive, or closed, session in certain instances, such as to consider a personnel matter, or to discuss litigation. However, all votes will be taken in open session. At least 24 hours’ written notice will be given for all regular, special or rescheduled meetings of our public bodies, and the agendas will be posted online in advance so that our citizens may take part in the business of the town. We provide an opportunity for public comment at all meetings.

The Town Council

The Town Council meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Monday of every month at Town Hall, Main Street, to consider ordinances, budgets and other matters. Special meetings are occasionally scheduled as needed to conduct city business.

Agendas and minutes dating back to 2009 are available online. All others are available at Town Hall.
