Mount Airy Government

Mayor’s Welcome

Welcome to Mt. Airy! We hope you will enjoy the small town, friendly atmosphere our community offers. We pride ourselves on our small-town charm, first-rate businesses, family-friendly neighborhoods with excellent sports and other activities, stable government, and friendly citizens.

Please explore this website and its many links to see just how good life is in Mount Airy.

If you are a visitor or have lived here for some years, there’s always more to learn more about Mt. Airy. Consider dining in one of our many excellent restaurants – from Sushi to Mexican, we have it all. Shop for everything from fresh fruit and vegetables in our Farmer’s Market, straight from the farm and open during the spring and summer, as well as the many other businesses that line our town.

We have it all – from teen clothes, to antiques to hunting/sportsman and team sport supplies in one of our small, quaint downtown stores, to many other establishments in other parts of town meeting our needs, including grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, pharmacies and the like. Also stop by our historic sites, such as the Pine Grove Chapel on Main Street where railroad and Civil War History were created.

If you wish to join us, contact one of our many realty firms. They can tell you about our first-rate school system.

We are centrally located, just north of Washington, D.C., west of Baltimore, south of Gettysburg, and east of Frederick. Interstate 70 runs borders our town and provides easy access to larger cities and major employment centers in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

To create a better town and America, we need citizen participation. I invite you to join me in creating an even better Mt. Airy by joining one of our many citizen-run committees.

Thanks again for visiting, and feel free to contact me with any questions or thoughts. Please drop by Town Hall and speak to one of our staff about the great life we enjoy in Mount Airy. And feel free to contact me or the Town Hall staff at: 301-829-1424 or prockinberg@gmail.com.

Thank you for your time and again, welcome to Mt. Airy!
