The Town of Mount Airy, located on the border between Carroll, Howard and Frederick Counties in Maryland, is a rural town with a rich history. The Town of Mount Airy was established in 1830 and built as a railroad stop, but quickly became known for its cool clean air and spectacular scenery. People flocked to make Mount Airy their home with its close proximity and convenience to the Baltimore and Washington Metropolitan areas.
One can quickly be enamored with downtown Mount Airy and its small town charm, quaint old buildings, and welcoming atmosphere that takes you back to a time long past, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Stop, Shop, and Stroll Mount Airy has become the mantra that has attracted so many visitors to our town. Mount Airy is and has become a premiere destination in Western Maryland.

| Leaf Pickup/Disposal - Homeowners are reminded that intentionally blowing leaves into the streets is a nuisance as defined by the Town Code, Chapter 76-3-A(6) and is subject to a $100 fine for the initial infraction and a $300 fine for subsequent infractions. Kindly refrain from such practices and dispose of fallen leaves in a responsible manner that does not violate the code or cause your neighbors extra work. First yard waste pick-up is scheduled for Saturday, November 7th.
